The plant is known as Noni in Hawaii. In this country its leaves, berries and stalks have been part of traditional lore and medicines for centuries. Noni (Morinda citrifolia) is believed to be among the original “canoe plants” that Hawaii’s Polynesian colonizers brought with them in their voyaging canoes. The
voyagers valued the plant for its medicine and dyes. It is habitates with the area or environment in which an organism or ecological community normally lives or occurs. In present days noni has become naturalized on all the main Hawaiian islands. In Hawaii the air and rain are some of the purest in the world. The noni fruit is sun ripened naturally and then hand-picked by farmers in the Hawaiian tradition and made the juice of these fruits.
According to the Bishop Museum there are two types of noni, one is Morinda citrifolia that is known as Hawaiian noni and other one is Morinda
trimera which is normal forest understory plant on some Hawaiian islands. In Hawaii there is also found variegated variety of noni. Noni, ferns and grasses are some of the first plant species in Hawai‘i to colonize lava flows.Noni is the plant which may grow in the lava fields near Kailua-Kona, on the island of Hawai‘i.
In hawai there are various laws are maintained for about pesticides of noni. For example, in 1970, the Environmental Protection Agency was established
and given the responsibility of administering the regulations governing pesticides under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) as
amended, which congress passed in 1972 and the Hawai‘i Department of Agriculture (HDOA) is responsible for administering the Hawai‘i Pesticide Law
(Chapter 149A, HRS).
