What Are The Bronchodilators in Ayurveda?

One example is the Sida Cordifolia which is commonly used to treat mild symptoms of asthma, and is known as a cool virya, sweet vipaka and rasa. Another is the bala which is a heavy, oily drug used to treat vata conditions. This type odf drug is utilized for treating vata disorders.

In addition, another herb used is the vasa, also known as Adhatoda Vasica, and acts as an expectorant and a bronchodilator. It is characterized as an astringent rasa and cool virya. It is great to pacify the condition of the disturbed kapha and pitta.

Bronchodilators in Ayurveda’s Other Forms of Remedy

Apart from the above mentioned forms of remedy for asthma and other bronchial disorders, other forms of treatment are used in Ayurveda like the nasya therapy, Kanakasava Vasarishta, Chousanth prahari papal, Vasanta Dhanvantar Gutika, Lavangadi churna, Laghu malini and Pushmarmula churna, for the treatment of different respiratory tract disorders. The Adhatoda vasica is a proven medicine for improving the respiratory tract’s ventilation and stimulation.
